If skiing and lounging around in designer shades have got a bit passé, two things are on the top of the list this month to welcome in the spring sunshine of April.
Firstly, why not give some well earned to support to a different group of sportswomen. The runners of the annual ‘Race for Life’ raising money for organ donation will be reaching the finish line here, having run 750km all the way from Paris four days earlier. Go down and give a well deserved round of applause!
If the success of these ladies drives you to push the limits too, then feel free to check out this year’s 3 Valley X Wing Rally on April 13th. Open to every man, woman and child, pro-skier, dog walker or coal miner, teams will make their way around different obstacle course areas, choosing which challenges to take on. If you are brave enough, you will find Speed Skiing, Giant Slalom, a Derby, Super Combo, Ski Stlye and The Triple Border – the biggest bordercross worldwide. But don’t panic! There is something for everyone and none of the races are compulsory. You will find me on the Big Air Bag (unsurprisingly) where you can practice jumps landing on this Scotland sized cushion. The all important prizes to be won include an invitation to the X-wing Transalp (£10,000), European ski trips, designer ski gear and lift passes.
And after all this I am sure you will be ready to retreat back to the paradise of the Chalet for a well deserved glass of Bolly by the pool!
